Primary Objective:  To establish the extent and pattern of antimicrobial resistance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae in men and women attending health facilities in Nairobi, Kenya,

To conduct a survey to determine the causes of the syndromes of genital discharge in men and women and to determine the prevalence of the various causative pathogens in patients with symptoms,

To establish a system for monitoring the antimicrobial resistance patterns of the N. gonorrhoeae in Eastern and Southern Africa by establishing the Gonococcal Antimicrobial Surveillance Programme (GASP) for the Eastern and Southern Region of Africa
