It was all smiles as the Department of Microbiology and Immunology celebrated outstanding performance in the University of Nairobi staff awards.
The Department emerged the as the best overall performing unit and best performing teaching department in the performance contracting awards category.
The Chair of the Department Dr. Marianne Mureithi thanked all the staff, students and the collaborating partners for making the Department shine.
She urged the staff to keep on with the same spirit and take the Department to greater heights.
“Let us all work harder to maintain the position next time. I know it is a hard task but together we can do it again,” Dr. Mureithi said.
On her part, the Faculty of Health Sciences acting Dean, Prof. Eveline Wagaiyu heaped praise on the Department saying they made the FHS proud.
She urged other departments at the Faculty to borrow a leaf from the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology as she stressed on the need for team work in all the departments.
