Carey Farquhar, a Professor in the Departments of Global Health, Medicine, and Epidemiology and Vice Dean for Education in the School of Public Health at the University of Washington, paid a visit to the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology. She actively conducts research in Kenya on HIV testing and partner notification services, HIV and HCV diagnosis and access to treatment among people who inject drugs, and non-communicable diseases among HIV-positive individuals. Future research collaboration options, faculty and student exchange programs, and collaborative grant submissions were discussed at the meeting. During the engagement, she also interacted with some postgraduate students, including Matrona Akiso, a PhD candidate, and Delories Sikuku and Janet Kombo, both MSc candidates.
