Prof Camille Ragin – AC3 Associate Director is scheduled to visit Kenya to access the level of preparedness and provide any necessary support for the The African Caribbean Cancer Consortium (AC3) conference. AC3 is coordinated at Fox Chase Cancer Center (FCC) and is a National Cancer Institute-Epidemiology and Genetic Research Program (NCI-EGRP) consortium, formed in 2006 to address inequities in cancer by furthering the study of viral, genetic, environmental, and lifestyle risk factors for cancer in populations of African descent. The local scientific membership is drawn from The University of Nairobi, KEMRI, KNH, Kenyatta University, Mt Kenya University, MP Shah among other Institutions. As part of these preparations, KAVI-ICR is currently supporting the IRONMAN: International Registry for Men with Advanced Prostate Cancer study by providing laboratory space for sample processing and storage of these samples.
