Prof. Oyugi shortlisted for COVID-19 NRF strategic grant call

Prof. Oyugi, Professor of Virology in the Department of Medical Microbiology, College of Health Sciences, University of Nairobi and Deputy Director, University of Nairobi Institute of Tropical and Infectious Disease (UNITID) has been shortlisted for the National Research Fund COVID-19 strategic grant call.

National Research Fund (NRF) facilitates and supports research for the advancement of science, technology and innovation. The NRF call, funding up to a maximum of Kshs. 20 million for a period of 1 year, focused on detection, prevention, management, support of healthcare systems and (or) increase of scientific evidence to COVID-19 pandemic response.

The applicants were academicians and researchers from different universities and fields aiming to make a significant contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic through innovative research. Prof. Oyugi's proposal was among the best considered for funding.
