The Historic First Face-to-Face Meeting of ECC Teams in Nairobi and Helsinki

The Kenya Research and Training Center (KRTC) held a strategic plan launch meeting on January 24, 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya. It was Led by Prof. Carey Farquhar, the Interim Chair and Professor, Department of Global Health and Director International AIDS Research and Training Program and Kenya Research and Training Center. Dr. Marianne Mureithi, Chair of the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology was also in attendance.
The University of Nairobi recently conducted a two-day in-house training for all Chairs of Departments on 5th and 6th January 2023 at the KCB Leadership Centre in Karen. The training was organized to equip the Chairs of Departments with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively lead their respective departments. Dr. Marianne Mureithi, the chair of the Department, attended the training.
PhD Scholar Matrona Akiso recently attended the (AfrIBOP) Course in Malawi. This was a one week course on African Immunology of Parasites, Pathogens, and Pathogenesis (AfrIBOP) followed by another week of flow cytometry/bioinformatics training. The immunology course entailed talks and immunology lectures from well-known researchers from University of Glasgow, Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Programme, KEMRI Wellcome Trust and Kamuzu University of Health Sciences.
The Department of Nursing Sciences launched of Basic Life Support (BLS) course training on the 3rd June 2022. The training was officially opened by Dr. Marianne Mureithi Chair of Medical Microbiology and Immunology who represented the Dean Faculty of Health Sciences.
