The Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) is one of the largest and most prestigious scientific conferences in infectious diseases, and the 2023 edition was no exception. Held from February 19th in Seattle, USA, the conference featured presentations and discussions on the latest research findings, clinical trials, and public health strategies related to HIV, hepatitis, COVID-19, and other viral infections.

Postgraduate scholar Regina Kandie recently attended and presented her ongoing Malaria work in the just concluded 2022 American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) Annual Meeting  October 30 - November 3, 2022, Seattle Convention Center, WA, USA

Her poster presentation was titled: Malaria diagnostic Capacity in Areas targeted for sub-National Elimination.

22nd International Pathogenic Neisseria Conference

Dr. Anne Maina, Lecturer in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology recently attended the  22nd International Pathogenic Neisseria Conference (IPNC 2022) in Cape Town, South Africa from the 9th to 14th October 2022.

Dr. Maina presented her ongoing research titled 'Symptomatic approach to Neisseria gonorrhoeae management performs better in men than women: a cross-sectional study in Nairobi, Kenya.
