The Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology shone brightly at the University of Nairobi (UoN) Performance Contracting and Staff Recognition Awards FY 2021/2022 ceremony, making it a momentous occasion. The event, which took place at the Chandaria Center for Performing Arts on December 5, 2022, was presided over by the University Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof. Stephen Kiama and Prof. Miriam Were, Chair of Council.
Throughout his address, the VC complimented the entire staff on their significant improvement during the 2021-2022 Performance contract period. He commended and singled out Professor Walter Jaoko of the Department for championing the O3 Plus Project,which has been successful and continues to affect students' lives. Ms. Caren Awilly, the Department Administrator, was one of the highest-performing non-teaching personnel.
Department Chair Dr. Marianne Mureithi praised the Department for maintaining its high level of performance and remarked that teamwork and diligence bear dividends. She asked the members to continue fostering the team's fundamental ideals and spirit
