We are thrilled to announce the initiation of a promising academic and research collaboration between the University of Nairobi (UoN) and Benadir University in Mogadishu. This partnership aims to foster mutual growth and development in various fields of study and research.

During a recent visit to Mogadishu, our team, Led by Hellen Muringi, a department lecturer, and Dr Ali Jamah, a faculty student, engaged with the leadership and staff of Benadir University. Mogadishu's vibrant and diverse potential was evident throughout the visit, marking the beginning of a fruitful collaboration. Speaking about her visit, Hllen Muringi stated, "I had a very exiting visit. Mogadishu is a very beautiful city with and very hospitable people. My discussions with the Rector, the Dean Postgraduate studies and Research,  and the Dean faculty of medicine among other leaders at Benadir University was extremely fruitful, and specifics about collaborations that could potentially benefit both faculty members and students at both universities were discussed in detail. I look forward to the birth of a robust mutually beneficial collaboration."

The entire Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology expresses its special thanks to the Rector, the Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Research, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Benadir University for their warm welcome and hospitality. The farewell dinner was a testament to the strong bonds we are forming, and we look forward to many more exchanges in the future.

We are excited about this collaboration's potential outcomes and the opportunities it will bring for both institutions. Stay tuned for more updates on joint research projects, academic exchanges, and other collaborative efforts.
