As part of our commitment to supporting medical students and building a stronger health workforce, the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology is proud to endorse and promote Leave No Medic Behind (LNMB). We invite all faculty, students, alumni, and friends of our department to participate in this inspiring cause.
What is Leave No Medic Behind?
Leave No Medic Behind (LNMB) is a charitable initiative founded in 2017 under the Prof. Hassan Saidi Memorial Educational Fund. It was born out of a desire to honour the legacy of Prof. Saidi, a dedicated mentor and compassionate teacher and to ensure that no medical student is forced to abandon their studies because of financial hardship. Over the years, LNMB has grown from student-led fundraisers to organizing its flagship annual charity run, which now rallies hundreds of participants to support vulnerable medical students across Kenya.
The core mission of LNMB is to raise funds to cover tuition fees, accommodation, meals, and essential support for medical students facing financial challenges. By doing so, LNMB helps preserve dignity and opportunity, enabling recipients to focus on their studies rather than financial stress.
Why the Run Matters

Through events like this, we affirm our belief that no student should be left behind due to lack of resources and that our collective support can make the difference between a dream deferred and a future realised.
When & Where: 2025 Charity Run
This year, the 2025 LNMB Charity Run will take place on 1st November 2025 at KMTC Grounds, KNH Campus. Registrations (including T-shirts and run packages) are currently open on the LNMB website. How Can You Get Involved?
