Post Doctoral Research Fellow & Department Member Recognized For Outstanding Acheivements

CREID Award

Post-Doctoral Research Fellow and Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology member Dr. Robert Langat was recently awarded a certificate for outstanding achievement in the Centers for Research in Emerging Infectious Diseases Network (CREID) Pilot Research Program by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Speaking about this award, Dr. Langat said "This recognition would not have been possible without the support and guidance of my amazing colleagues and mentors. Thank you all for your contributions to my success!"

The CREID Network is a coordinated group of emerging infectious disease research centers situated in regions around the globe where emerging and re-emerging infectious disease outbreaks are likely to occur. Multidisciplinary teams of investigators conduct pathogen/host surveillance, study pathogen transmission, pathogenesis and immunologic responses in the host, and will develop reagents and diagnostic assays for improved detection for important emerging pathogens and their vectors. They plan to prospectively develop a framework and the infrastructure necessary to respond quickly and effectively to future outbreaks.
