The African Caribbean Cancer Consortium (AC3) won the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Team Science Award at the AACR Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida.

As stated by the AACR, "This award recognizes an outstanding interdisciplinary research team for its innovative and meritorious science that has advanced or likely will advance our fundamental knowledge of cancer, or a team that has applied existing knowledge to advance the detection, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of cancer."

The Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology would like to congratulate to our esteemed colleagues, Zubair Munshi, Dr. Nasimiyu, Dr. Masika and Dr. Ngere, for getting the Faculty of Health Sciences MSc and PhD Academic Awards during this year's Students Recognition Awards.  We wish them all the best in their future endeavors
