Dr. Marianne Mureithi Appointed Affiliate Associate Professor at the University of Washington

Dr. Marianne Mureithi has been appointed as an Affiliate Associate Professor in the Department of Global Health at the School of Public Health, University of Washington effective from 1st of July 2023. She also serves as the Chair of the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Nairobi, the Basic Science Team Lead at the KAVI-Institute of Clinical Research, and contributes to both the Women's Health Project in Mombasa, Kenya and the Kenya Research and Training Center (KRTC), both affiliated with the University of Washington.

In her response to the appointment, Dr. Mureithi highlighted her ambition to facilitate stronger collaborations and expand shared research initiatives. "This appointment reinforces the bridge between our institutions, stimulating increased cooperative research, idea exchange, and capacity-building efforts. It provides the platform for further research collaborations and reciprocal learning, ultimately enhancing the translation of research findings into applicable field interventions," Dr. Mureithi said.
