The University of Nairobi celebrates a new milestone in academic leadership and scientific research. Prof. Julius Oyugi is elevated to the distinguished rank of Full Professor at the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology. Prof. Oyugi, who also serves as the director of the University of Nairobi Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (UNITID), has been instrumental in propelling the institution to new heights in virology and infectious diseases.

Visit by Professor Carey Farquhar

Carey Farquhar, a Professor in the Departments of Global Health, Medicine, and Epidemiology and Vice Dean for Education in the School of Public Health at the University of Washington, paid a visit to the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology. She actively conducts research in Kenya on HIV testing and partner notification services, HIV and HCV diagnosis and access to treatment among people who inject drugs, and non-communicable diseases among HIV-positive individuals.
