Showcasing Groundbreaking HIV/AIDS Research
The AIDS2024 conference, held from July 22 to 26 in Munich, has been a significant event for researchers and professionals in the field of HIV/AIDS. This year's conference saw active participation from the KAVI-ICR team and the Department of Medical Microbiology, who presented their groundbreaking research and contributed to various sessions, showcasing their commitment to advancing HIV/AIDS research.
Members of the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology attended the 24th International AIDS Conference from the 29th of July - 2nd of August 2022 in Montreal, Canada.
The Conference defined future research agendas, shift latest evidence to action, and chart a new consensus on overcoming the HIV epidemic as a threat to public health and individual well-being.

Delories Sikuku, an MSc student in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, recently received the prestigious Norman L Letvin award for her outstanding research in the field of AIDS vaccine discovery. The award was presented to her at the Collaborative AIDS Vaccine Discovery (CAVD) meeting held in in Cape town South Africa in February 2023.
