University of Nairobi 70th Graduation Ceremony

The 70th University of Nairobi Graduation Ceremony was held on Friday 15th December, 2023 starting at 7:00AM with over 5,700 students graduating. Among those graduations, the Department of Medical Microbiology would like to congratulate the following students:

1. Dr. Kenneth Omollo for his PhD in Medical Microbiology where his research centered around the impact of hormonal contraception on peripheral and muscosal immunity. 

Department Doctoral Scholar Selected as PI for Elevatum Study

Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology PhD student in Clinical Research and Ophthalmologist Dr. Oscar Onyango has been selected to be the Principal Investigator (PI) in the Elevatum Study sponsored by Genentech, a member of the Roche Group.

Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology PhD Scholar Dr. Cheryl Kerema was recognised as the 2023 Young Talents L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Laureate.

Since 2000, the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science programme has highlighted the achievements of younger women who are in the early stages of their scientific careers.
